TOP-RATED NURSING IN

STATEN ISLAND, NY

Whether you become a long-term resident of Verrazano or you come to us for a short-term stay, our team is staffed with skilled nurses who look forward to getting to know you on a first-name basis.

Close-Knit Community and Care

We are here to make you feel at home and invite you to become a part of our family. At Verrazano, our secret is our size – with a small, close-knit group of residents, you will get to know your neighbors, the person down the hall, and all staff members. We understand that your loved one’s needs may include medical care. With a team of skilled registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and certified nursing assistants, we have decades of experience caring for patients with a variety of nursing needs, and we are prepared to care for your family member, so you can enjoy peace of mind.

Improved Quality of Life

Whether your family member comes to us from a hospital or has decided to choose a nursing home to make life a little bit easier, our goal at Verrazano is to offer care for every facet of life. When it comes to maintaining your overall health, our nursing team has training and experience in the following services:

  • IV Therapy
  • Wound Care
  • Oxygen Therapy
  • BiPAP/CPAP Therapy
  • Tube Feedings
  • Tracheostomy Care
  • Respite Care
  • Pain Management
  • Palliative Care
  • Hospice Care

RECOVERY AND CONTINUED COMFORT

Sometimes residents come to us after trauma or illness that required a hospital stay. In these cases, we look forward to assisting the patient on the journey back to good health. If a person is not yet prepared to return to independent living after a hospital stay, but no longer needs to remain in the hospital, a short-term stay at Verrazano will feel like staying with relatives during recovery.

If you’ve chosen a long-term stay for your loved one, our staff will take great care in offering daily nursing services, so he or she will feel comfortable while maintaining independence. We realize that personal medical needs are as unique as your family member’s personality, so we will first meet with you and our new resident to discuss health history so that we can create a tailored nursing plan for an enjoyable stay.
